Coaxial digital audio cables transport multichannel audio signals in wide bandwidth applications. Clarus digital audio cables feature a proprietary dielectric designed that maintains a consistent 75-ohm impedance for accurate digital data transfer and maximum performance. Silver-plated PCCC signal conductors support higher frequency performance by lowering resistance to dramatically increase signal transfer. The shielding provides immunity to noise and electromagnetic interference.
TECHNOLOGY
The Purest Copper Available for the Purest Sound Possible
Clarus designs cables for discriminating audiophiles using the purest copper available. Pure Continuous Cast Copper (PCCC) uses a unique proprietary mold extrusion process that creates substantial lengths of single-crystal copper that is directional, free of impurities, flexible, corrosion-resistant with low electrical resistance, and non-crystal boundaries that are structurally perfect. To support the high frequency demands of the digital signal, Clarus uses ultra-pure silver-plated PCCC which lowers the resistance to dramatically increase signal transfer. Sonically the sound is smooth and fluent as well as more dynamic.
Cable Geometry Optimized for 75-Ohm Impedance
Clarus designs digital audio cables with the highest-quality dielectric material available—nitrogen injected skin-foam-skin polyethylene (PE). A layer of skin seals the conductor, eliminating corrosion and creating an ideal surface. Then, a second skin protects the dielectric from crushing to maintain a strict 75-ohm impedance. The PE dielectric between the skins is injected with nitrogen to produce a foam-like substance with a high gaseous concentration and an ultra-low dielectric constant. This dielectric reduces signal loss and attenuation while increasing the velocity of propagation.
Multiple Layers of Shielding Maintain Signal Purity
A lot is going on inside Clarus coaxial digital audio cables. We are careful to protect the integrity of the digital audio signal for maximum sonic purity. Clarus coaxial cables employ heavy triple shielding. Protective layers of aluminum and copper foil protect from high frequency noise like electromagnetic interference (EMI) while copper braided shields protect from low frequency noise like radio frequency interference (RFI). The result is clear, full range audio with a dead quiet background.
Mark II — The Final Connection
Clarus terminates MKII digital audio cables with advanced material RCA connectors made from two copper alloys. High-purity, high-conductivity tellurium copper provides low resistance with superior sound characteristics. Lightweight, springy, and high-conductivity beryllium copper for solid contact and low loss signal transfer.
The tellurium copper center pin features a hollow design that reduces eddy currents that slow signal transfer. Beryllium copper, used for the ground section of the RCA connector, boasts a strong memory characteristic. When its shape is displaced, it springs back to its original position or shape, ensuring the RCA plug’s ground plates firmly grip the RCA receptacle, for a solid ground connection.
